Numerical Control and Non-destructive Testing
laboratory belongs to School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering,
Beijing Institute of Technology. From the ends of 70s, the
laboratory started research on Modality Analyzing Theory and
Technology, Monitoring and Testing Technology, Numerical Control
Technology and Non-destructive Testing Technology. Now, the
laboratory has five professors, six vice professors, one lecturer,
six doctors and thirty graduates. Working area of this laboratory
is over 300 . Total value of facilities is over 7 million
RMB. Actually, it combines the scientific study with the teaching.
1. Modality Analyzing Theory and Technology
In this area, researches are mainly focused on computerized
mechanical vibration, noise and modality analyzing theory.
A new method of mechanic modality parameters recognizing,
has been developed in a research program supported by the
China National Natural Science Fund. This algorithm has received
prize awarded by the National Mechanical and Electronics Industries
Ministry. Based on the theory, a monograph - Experimental
Modality Analyzer has built and related papers have been published.
About ten graduate students worked in this field and have
gotten their degrees from the research work.
2. Monitoring and Diagnosing Technology
The researches are mainly focused on the monitoring and diagnosing
technology used in CIMS and FMS fields. Many projects supported
by government have been undertaken. Techniques such as automatic
detecting of cutting tool wearing, intelligent ball bearing
fault diagnosing have been researched deeply. Products, such
as the fatigue cracking detector for truck laminated plate
spring, surface contact type acoustic emission sensor, and
non-surface contact type acoustic emission sensor, have been
developed and been used in industry successfully. The products
were awarded a lot of prizes by different industry ministry.
About ten graduate students have worked in this field and
gotten their degrees.
3. Numerical Control Technology
The laboratory has begun to research on Numerical Control
Technology and begun to develop on Numerical Control Products
from 1970s. Products such as the simple numerical control
lathe, the three coordinates numerical control milling machine,
the NC system for machining center are developed. In 90s,
the laboratory researched on DNC technology and focused on
special and high-precision NC system development. Research
work on auto-programming technique has also been done in that
period. The laboratory has successfully developed CNC controllers
for lath, for a axis milling machine. The online auto measuring
and grouping machine, one of the products, was successfully
used in engine cylinder body¡¯s production line. In recent
years, the laboratory started research on the Parallel Numerical
Controlling Machine and the Super Precision Numerical Controlling
Technology. Presently, many key projects of the national are
undertaken.
4. Non-destructive Testing Technology
The researches mainly focused on the ultrasound testing technique,
the non-contact optical dimension measuring technique, the
vortex current testing technique, and so on. Projects including
¡°the comprehensive parameter testing technology for tubular
parts inner surface¡± and ¡°the ultrasound measuring technology
for the shear modulus of solid material¡± are developed recently
in the lab. Additionally, RD2 railway wagon rolling bearing
fault detector has been successfully used in practice.
